Academics
BBA Program Structure
IIM Udaipur offers a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Program designed to deliver credible, IIM-quality business education with flexibility and wide access. The Program follows a structured year-wise progression, with courses typically organised into two academic terms within each year.
The Program is Hindi-first and digital-first by design. For the first three years, live tutorials and faculty masterclasses are delivered Hindi-first so that language does not become a barrier to learning. Recorded learning resources are provided in Hindi, with English versions also made available after a short processing delay where feasible. Students who prefer Hindi can complete the Program in Hindi; English is not mandatory.

Curriculum Structure: Dual-Dimension Design
This curriculum combines rigorous academic foundations with structured professional development.
Academic Dimension establishes a consistent academic benchmark and comprises ten core courses per year. This structure satisfies the requirements of a three-year degree, with an additional year of advanced coursework for students who elect to pursue the Honours option.
Professional Dimension ensures that learners develop practical capability through structured skill development and experiential learning. It is designed as a deliberate progression—skills acquisition, application, internship, and professional readiness. In Years 1 and 2, learners build foundational competencies in communication and proposal development through Harvard ManageMentor modules. Year 3 incorporates experiential learning through a mandatory internship that integrates professional practice with academic assessment. The Honours year further enhances professional readiness through dedicated workshops.

Scholarship & Fee Waiver Benefits
With the support of need- and merit-based scholarships, deserving students can complete the BBA program at significantly reduced costs, reflecting IIM Udaipur's commitment to inclusive excellence.
Merit-based scholarship:
Awarded to students in the top quartile (top 25%) based on academic performance. It provides a 50% reduction in the following year’s tuition fee and is applicable from Year 2 onwards. It is applied as a fee reduction in the immediately succeeding academic year (not as a refund).
Means-based (need-based) scholarship:
Means-based scholarship follows a cohort-based approach rather than an absolute income cut-off. Eligibility is determined by placing enrolled students on a verified family-income spectrum from lowest to highest. Students in the bottom quartile are eligible and receive a 50% reduction in tuition fee for that same academic year. Students seeking means-based support must submit updated family income documentation each year for that year’s assessment.
Family income includes income from the candidate, parents, spouse, and siblings or children below 18 years of age, and includes all sources such as salary, agriculture, business, and profession.
Combined eligibility (merit + means):
Where a student qualifies for both scholarships in the same academic year (Year 2 onwards), the effect is cumulative:
the student pays 50% upfront due to merit, and then receives a 50% refund of that paid amount due to means-based
eligibility. This results in an effective 75% reduction, meaning the student pays 25% of the full tuition fee for that
year.

External scholarship engagement
The Institute will actively pursue scholarship funding from government programs, CSR initiatives, and individual or institutional contributions. If external funding is less than the eligible Institute support category, the Institute may cover the difference from its corpus so that the student's net payable tuition aligns with the outcomes.
Progression and Year Repeat
The Year Repeat policy maintains academic standards while providing clarity, fairness, and predictable processes. It applies when a student does not clear an academic year under the program pass rule.
Year Repeat meaning and academic result treatment
Year Repeat means re-registering for the same academic year and reappearing for all ten course examinations in the next available examination cycle. A repeat constitutes a fresh annual attempt and a complete new annual result. If a year is not cleared in the first attempt, the transcript or academic record may reflect the outcome as 'Year Not Cleared'.
Attempts and fees
Each academic year may be attempted a maximum of two times: the initial attempt plus one repeat attempt. The repeat attempt must be taken and cleared within three years from the date of registration for that academic year, subject to the overall maximum time permitted for program completion.
The repeat-year attempt is permitted on payment of a nominal repeat fee of INR 25,000. No merit-based or means-based scholarship applies to this repeat fee, and the fee is final.
Maximum program completion duration:
In line with NEP guidance on credit validity, the Program permits a maximum of seven years to complete the three-year BBA degree and the four-year BBA (Honours) pathway, counted from the date of first registration in the Program.
Convocation
The Institute's principal convocation ceremony is held at the IIM Udaipur campus. Students who successfully complete the BBA degree (Year 3) and those who complete the optional BBA (Honours) degree (Year 4) are eligible to participate in the campus convocation as per the Institute schedule and process.
Career Facilitation for BBA Alumni
To support career progression after graduation, IIM Udaipur is developing an alumni career opportunity portal where verified employers (businesses, government bodies, NGOs, and others) can post opportunities and review opt‑in alumni profiles/CVs. Access will be enabled only after graduation, when learners transition to the Institute alumni email identity (@iimu.ac.in), including for BBA (Honours) graduates. Alumni participation is voluntary, and profile/CV visibility is fully controlled by the alumnus/alumna. The Institute facilitates access to opportunities through this platform; however, final outcomes depend on employer selection processes. The portal will be hosted separately at www.iimudaipur.com as IIM Udaipur BBA Alumni Career Connect — verified opportunities, trusted alumni access.
